We welcomed our preschool family, local community and friends on a sunny Wednesday afternoon on 11th September to share the joy of successfully achieving our playground dream.
The playground project has been in the ‘pipeline’ for about a year, committee meetings, educator discussions, chats with families and wonderings with children around what we wanted the playground to look like and represent in our preschool and for our children was foremost in all our minds.
It was a big deal for a small thirty place community preschool!
Our preschool outdoor environment is a natural landscape of grass, dirt, trees, foliage, timber, trees, barkchip and sandstone and we wanted the playground to complement and enhance that.
Conversations and discussions saw imaginings, drawings, meetings, financing, worrying, hoping, considering, planning, timing, and eventually actioning.
There were ongoing issues and frustrations of course, for sometimes "Difficulties increase the nearer we get to the goal" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe; especially with a big project as ours.
We hope our timber playground will bring joy, challenge, success, for years to come.
To all who were involved in the small ways and the big ways in supporting us to achieve our playground dream, we thank you.
Leonie
